Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Southern Serengeti (Ndutu)

In the morning, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and set off towards the Ndutu region. The drive takes approximately 5.5 hours, covering a distance of 260 kilometers. About 2 hours into the journey, we’ll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll notice the landscape transitioning from hilly forests to vast plains and lush green grasslands.

Once we reach Ndutu, we’ll embark on a half-day game drive, with a convenient stop for a picnic lunch. The sweeping grasslands of Ndutu gradually blend into the Serengeti, forming a crucial part of the migration route for over 2 million wildebeests, along with thousands of zebras, antelopes, and gazelles. If you’re visiting between December and April, you’ll witness the plains transform into calving grounds, attracting predators eager to prey on vulnerable young wildebeests.

Ndutu is adorned with Ndutu Lake and Lake Masek, providing vital water sources and abundant wildlife, especially during the dry season. It’s also home to six species of big cats: leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, serval, and wildcat.

After an action-packed game drive, we’ll return to your chosen accommodation by around 5 PM, where a freshly prepared dinner awaits. Take this time to rest and recharge for another exciting day ahead.

Day 02: Serengeti – Ngorongoro

Today’s adventure takes you into the renowned Serengeti National Park, the epitome of wildlife excitement. After a satisfying breakfast, we’ll journey towards the Serengeti, traversing the vast plains that stretch endlessly before us. The name Serengeti, meaning ‘endless plains’ in the local African language, perfectly captures the breathtaking expanse of grassland that seems to merge seamlessly with the horizon.

Covering an impressive land area of 14,763 square kilometers, the Serengeti is home to the illustrious “Big 5” – elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, and leopard. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of the graceful impala, one of Africa’s most beautiful animals. The Serengeti ecosystem supports an unparalleled concentration of plains game, making every moment of your journey a wildlife enthusiast’s dream.

Be on the lookout for the iconic Serengeti “Kopjes,” massive granite boulders that punctuate the landscape and provide shelter for a diverse array of flora and fauna. During our day-long game drive, we’ll pause for a picnic lunch amidst the stunning scenery.

As the sun sets on this eventful day, we’ll return to our accommodation for a hearty dinner and a well-deserved night’s rest, ready to continue our safari adventure tomorrow.

Day 3: Southern Serengeti (Ndutu) to Ngorongoro area

Following breakfast, we’ll kick off the day with a morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park, soaking in the beauty of this iconic wildlife sanctuary. Later, we’ll depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying a scenic journey with a picnic lunch en route.

Ngorongoro Crater awaits us, boasting the title of the largest collapsed volcanic crater in the world. Its breathtaking expanse spans fourteen kilometers, surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes. The crater floor, adorned with watering holes, provides sanctuary for approximately 30,000 animals, creating a truly mesmerizing spectacle of nature.

As the sun sets, we’ll return to our accommodation at Farm of Dream Lodge, where a sumptuous dinner awaits. After a day filled with adventure and exploration, it’s time to unwind and recharge for the next leg of our journey.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

On your final day, get ready for an early start. After a quick breakfast, we’ll begin our descent into the Ngorongoro Crater around 6:30 AM. As the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera, the crater boasts a massive floor spanning about 260 square kilometers and a depth of over 2000 feet.

During our 5-hour game drive on the crater floor, prepare for an abundance of animal sightings. Keep your camera handy to capture the incredible wildlife action. From the majestic African elephant and buffalo to the elusive black rhino, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and lions, there’s no shortage of fascinating creatures to observe.

After a picnic lunch by the picturesque Hippo pool, we’ll begin our steep ascent to the top exit of the crater. This marks the final leg of our safari, with a 4-hour drive remaining to Arusha. You can expect to be dropped off at your preferred location in Arusha by 6:00 PM in the evening.

As your safari adventure comes to a close, take a moment to reflect on the incredible experiences and memories you’ve gathered. It’s time to bid farewell to your team, leaving with cherished moments to last a lifetime.
